FYI StackIdeas hasn't yet finished their JomSocial plugin. I think because JS 2.6 is around the corner some of the development got focused on forward compatibility.

In JS 2.4 I have found that the ajax code is not yet complete. JS is supposed to have better live notification support in 2.6.

JomSocial have crazy notifications system in 2.6 Im just adopting the module to support it there should be new QAlerts version quite soon No easydiscuss integration yet tough

I just wanted to let you know that JomSocial 2.6 will be shipped with native module for notfications which will make Qalerts obsolete.
Also, third party extension devs will be able to hook up on the notifications API and use it to generate jomsocial notification (same as third parties use activity stream)

Basically, besides JomSocial's built in notifications, you will be able to see those like

-User X replied on your topi in kunena forum
-John also liked your easyblog comment
-Super Admin deleted your andswer in Community Answers
-xamfap replied to discussion in easydiscuss

These are just examples of what to expect but you should urge the third party devs to utilize this wonderful feature of JomSocial.

Unfortunately, that will kill the QAlerts, but if its for greater good we are all for that

I have the beta of it and can't find any such thing.

Even tough- this is all very good news. IT will be fantastic when Jomsocial feels like one network, as a pose to a bunch of plugins clumped together as it does at the moment.
